2018 World Cup final draw will be in Moscow next week

MOSCOWST. PETERSBURG 

Few more days are left before the 2018 World Cup final draw which will take place in Russia's capital city of Moscow on December 1 at the State Kremlin Palace.  A total of 32 teams will feature at the 2018 World Cup, 31 of them coming through a qualifying campaign and one (Russia) making it as host nation.

The Christmas Fair in St. Petersburg will open 23rd of December 2017

The 11th Christmas fair will be held under support of St. Petersburg Government and the Committee for entrepreneurship and consumer market. The world biggest Planetarium was opened in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG 

Lumiere Hall St. Petersburg (also known as St. Petersburg Projection Museum)  has opened planetarium this weekend. It is the biggest planetariumin the world. Dome with 37 meters diameter  is installed inside of  the building, it is made of monolith polycarbonate,  wood and aluminum.

Russia Largest Railway Museum was opened in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG 

Russia’s main railway museum and one of the world’s largest railway museums was opened on November 1, 2017 in St. Petersburg.

The museum complex is spread over a vast area. It has two buildings — an old locomotive depot building and an eye-catching modern building. The buildings are connected with a suspension bridge to make a single structure.

St. Petersburg will get the world tallest Ferris wheel in 2020

St. Petersburg City Administration together with private investors are planning to build the world tallest Ferris wheel on the territory of Vasilevsky Island in 2020. It will be highest city attraction – with 170 meters height. Exact location will be announced in the end of the year.

St. Petersburg has won World Travel Award 2017 in Europe’s Leading Destination nomination

Saint Petersburg has been recognised as Europe’s Leading City Destination by the World Travel Awards, with Saint Petersburg Governor,  Georgy Poltavcheko, collecting the trophy at a glittering ceremony at Ethnography Musum on September, 30.  The Venice of the North has won the tourist Oscar for the third consecutive year.

St. Petersburg Festival of Lights 2017 will take place on Palace Square 4th and 5th November

ST. PETERSBURG 

Festival will be divided into two days, on 4 and 5 November 2017. Everyone can see the light music installations from 7 till 11 p.m. The Hermitage will become a stage for the music light performances. Sessions will run every fifteen minutes.
